With treacherous track conditions at a wet Misano on Friday, Broc Parkes elected to stay in the garage for the opening session of the day after he saw numerous riders crash in the early minutes of the session.

With the weather forecast to improve tomorrow the PBM team saw little value in sending Parkes out on track.

Speaking to Crash.net after the session explained his decision:

"We didn't go out this morning because there was seven or eight crashes at the start and Birdy said that there was no need to go out and wreck a bike so I waited until the afternoon.

"It took me a bit of time to get going in the conditions and there was no real need to go crazy and there was still a lot of crashes and if I wanted to pick up a couple of seconds it would have been easy to do but I was just being cautious."

In the afternoon Parkes ventured out and was satisfied with the progress that he made in the difficult conditions but having struggled at the British Grand Prix he admitted that reading much into the performance today was not relevant to the rest of the weekend:

"The bike wasn't too bad in the wet and I don't think that we'd be a mile away in the wet but everyone thinks that it's going to be dry over the weekend. I'm hoping that it's going to be good tomorrow in the dry."
