Jorge Lorenzo's second place finish at the Misano MotoGP marked his fourth runner-up result in a row.

The victory drought would seem especially frustrating given Lorenzo's eight wins last season, more than any other rider, and now a victory for team-mate Valentino Rossi.

"For sure it is not the best record you can get, always to be in second place," said Lorenzo at Aragon on Thursday. "But it is not so bad. Obviously we all come here to try and win, including me. I've always been very competitive and obviously I want to get this victory this year. But it is not that simple.

"We are getting better and better. In the last race we were quite competitive, it was just a pity about the tyre choice on Sunday. But we have to learn from it and try not to repeat it again. This track is probably not the best one for us but last year we made a good race, so victory is not impossible. We are going to try."

Honda riders have won at Aragon for the past three years, but Lorenzo challenged Marquez to the end of last year's race and the Movistar Yamaha team held a private test at the circuit in June: "It should be a small help for settings but the track was not in great condition for the test."

Looking further ahead, Lorenzo confirmed that his pit crew will remain unchanged next year, following rumours that crew chief Roman Forcada could depart.

"From Silverstone we are clear that we are going to keep all the team together," he said. "I think we've got a very good team and I'm very happy with them, their work and the atmosphere in the team. So we will keep everything the same."

Lorenzo is fourth in the world championship, 37 points behind Rossi, with five rounds remaining.
