Avintia's Ducati MotoGP debut got off to a nightmare start when Hector Barbera's machine burst into flames, whilst he was riding it, with ten minutes of Aragon Free Practice 1 remaining.

The Spaniard, cloaked in flames, bravely steered the bike off the side of the track before jumping ship.

While the fire was soon extinguished by the marshals, it is not clear if the bike will be repairable for the remainder of the weekend.
