Dani Pedrosa was in a class of his own during a wet warm-up session for the Aragon MotoGP.

After dry and bright conditions on Friday and Saturday, Sunday morning dawned wet and damp with warm-up delayed by an hour due to mist and fog. Conditions remained murky for MotoGP warm-up, albeit with a dry line starting to emerge.

After qualifying first and second on the grid respectively, Repsol Honda riders Marc Marquez and Pedrosa were the clear favourites for victory in a dry race. However momentum swung in favour of Pedrosa in the wet, the #26 finishing the session on top of the timesheets by 0.597s while using the hard compound wet tyres.

Open class Aspar Honda rider Hiroshi Aoyama, yet to sign for 2015, took second place on his final lap to be the only rider within one-second of Pedrosa.

Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso (+1.049s) and Valentino Rossi (+1.161s) followed, with Marquez - fighting his bucking RC213V under hard acceleration on the straights - in fifth (+1.174s). Rossi's Movistar Yamaha team-mate Jorge Lorenzo completed the top six.

Marquez will be hunting a record-equalling twelfth win of the season this afternoon, while Pedrosa is just one point clear of Misano winner Rossi in the fight for second in the standings.

Rossi and Lorenzo had struggled with tyre issues in the dry, qualifying sixth and seventh.

Pramac's Andrea Iannone, who has qualified on the front row with the new GP14.2, was just 19th fastest this morning. Due to the changeable weather, most riders unsurprisingly practiced bike swaps this morning.

Leading the warm up doesn't count for too much, but it's not that long ago that Pedrosa supposedly "couldn't ride" in the wet! Aoyama second fastest... Well, let's see what the race holds. Maybe a lottery would be easier to predict.
