Colin Edwards will be at Valencia MotoGP, but…

“For sure Colin will be at Valencia, but we are not sure if he will be riding"
Colin Edwards will be at the season-ending Valencia MotoGP. However it is far from certain that he will ride in the event.

The Texan, retiring at the end of this year, stepped down from his seat at Forward Yamaha following his final American MotoGP appearance at Indianapolis.

Wild-card rides were initially planned at Silverstone and Valencia. But the Silverstone appearance was purely as a spectator, to say goodbye to the British fans, and that may also be the case for Valencia.

“For sure Colin will be at Valencia, but we are not sure if he will be riding,” Forward Yamaha told at Phillip Island. “We hope to make an announcement next weekend at Sepang.”

Edwards has already started a new role as a test rider for Yamaha, with Alex de Angelis taking over his Forward ride for the remainder of the season. The team has signed Stefan Bradl and Loris Baz for 2015, when star ride Aleix Espargaro will move to Suzuki.

cfsteezy: So does DeAngelis have to retire too? Cuz he hasnt done any better... I hope the decision to step down was actually edwards' decision and not the team cuz the replacement isnt any faster..
Edwards has the wrong passport to run outside the points, DeAngelis apparently does. I hope that Edwards DOES get a wildcard ride, but on a Factory Yamaha, you know the one he's been testing and will hand off to Lorenzo & Rossi after the Valencia Race.
