A strong Malaysian MotoGP weekend concluded with a fourth place finish for LCR Honda's Stefan Bradl.

The German, who had also qualified as the top satellite rider, held off Tech 3 Yamaha's Bradley Smith.

"It's really great for all of the team after suffering in the last couple of races," said Bradl. "It's been a tough time for me personally but this fourth place, especially in these conditions, is really good for us.

"It's a good position but we also didn't make mistakes during the weekend and we had a good race. Bradley was behind me all the time and I couldn't relax for a single moment. It was hard with the front tyre suffering from the first lap and I knew that I'd have to manage the situation with the front so I'm really happy with fourth and we'll see what happens in Valencia."

Bradl has had a tough season in 2014 and sits ninth in the riders' standings and admitted today that the key for him was to continue working hard with his team:

"The most important thing in sport is that so many things can happen and we've had a great weekend, always in the top six, and never gave up. So until the last corner at Valencia we'll push to the maximum and see what is going to happen. At the end it's been a tough season with a lot of crashes and DNFs so we'll try and bring it together in Valencia and then move to the next story after Valencia."

Valencia will be Bradl's final race for LCR Honda before moving to Forward Yamaha.
