Randy de Puniet may have missed out on a full time Suzuki race seat, but he will have the honour of giving the new GSX-RR its MotoGP debut at Valencia this weekend.

The wild-card appearance is a thank-you to the Frenchman for his efforts as a test rider, as Suzuki geared up for a return to the sport it left due to the financial crisis at the end of 2011.

"I'm ready for it, because I miss racing," the official MotoGP website quotes de Puniet as saying. "I am excited about the idea, keen to get going, but we are not setting any targets in terms of results. I know it's hard to pick up the pace at the end of a season. I'm not under pressure.
