Valencia will be a big weekend for the Marquez family, with double MotoGP champion Marc aiming to conclude the season with a 13th win while younger brother Alex fights Jack Miller for the Moto3 crown.

"Records are always another motivation but I know that this weekend will be difficult," said Marc, who drew level with Mick Doohan's all-time tally of twelve wins in a year last time at Sepang.

"Especially both Yamahas - Valentino and Jorge - will push a lot here, because they are trying to finish second in the championship. But also Dani [Pedrosa], he was really fast and his level is really high. For sure after two not-so-good races he will try to finish the last race of the season on top of the podium."

The Repsol Honda star added: "I'm not superstitious about the number 13, because in Motegi I had room number 313 and I won the title there. At Malaysia I did my 13th pole and here we will try for the 13th victory. We will see what happens on Sunday."

If younger brother Alex can remain at the head of the Moto3 Championship standings after Sunday's race the two brothers will have made motorcycle grand prix history. Alex holds an eleven point advantage over Miller and Marc revealed the brothers got a little too close while training for the showdown.

"We did some dirt track last week and like always we were training, try to prepare for the race, especially for him. One time there was contact, it was scary because it was my fault! But anyway he was ok," Marc smiled. "I wish all my best luck to him. The positive thing is that he depends on himself. He doesn't need to change anything, just keep focussed and keep pushing."

As soon as the Valencia races are over attention will turn to 2015 in the form of a post-race test.

"Last year this test was really important because today we were checking in the garage and my base [setting] on the bike is exactly the same base and geometry that I used here in the winter test," Marquez revealed. "That means the test is important and we will try to do our best with the 2015 bike."
