Jorge Lorenzo wrapped up the Valencia MotoGP test as the top Yamaha rider, finishing third fastest between Repsol Honda riders Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa.

Lorenzo, who skipped Tuesday's weather-hit session, set a fastest lap of 1m 31.464s to end the final day of the shakedown only 0.191s behind world champion Marquez.

It was a positive conclusion for the Movistar Yamaha rider, whose decision in Sunday's race to switch to his wet-weather M1 went spectacularly wrong.

But Lorenzo will now head into the winter break feeling generally satisfied with his final laps on the YZR-M1 at the Spanish circuit.

"In general I'm quite satisfied, because we tried some things we couldn't try yesterday and it was slightly better," he said.

"The new parts are not a really big improvement but they're a step forward, so I am happy about this test. It's been a long and tough season but it's not yet over for me: in few days I'll fly to Indonesia for some promotional activities and after that I will take the occasion to spend some days off in Bali with friends.

"In December I will participate in a car race and after that, finally, I will head to a sunny place for Christmas," Lorenzo added.

"In the meantime I will work hard to be back in
2015 stronger and ready for the new season."

Wednesday's final session again began in wet conditions before the weather improved later in the day.

Lorenzo was unable to better his fastest lap from Monday though, which he set in 1m 30.975s, which was the second quickest time overall from the test, with Marquez marginally fastest on Wednesday with a time of 1m 30.973s.
