Randy Krummenacher began his JiR career by leading a rain-affected final day at last week's unofficial Jerez Moto2 test.

The Swiss, moving to JiR after three seasons on Kalex and then Suter machinery, set the pace courtesy of a 1m 47.115s, while using slick tyres during the final hour. Day one had been led by Johann Zarco (1m 42.858s) with Jonas Folger quickest on day two (1m 45.773s).

"We weren't lucky because of the weather for the most time over these three days. The track conditions were more mixed with dry parts of the track, but too wet for slicks," Krummenacher explained. "The target was to ride as much as possible to get a feeling for the bikes and during the last hour of the last day I enjoyed saying on track, having a good feeling with the TSR chassis."

JiR swapped its usual TSR chassis for an NTS design during the closing rounds. Evaluation of both is set to continue at this week's Valencia test, before a final chassis decision is made for 2015.

"Considering the [disrupted] schedule we revised our working plan concentrating on Randy's familiarisation with our system to operate with us using two different chassis," said JiR team principal Gianluca Montiron. "Considering the previous results and our team experience we are orientated to proceed on the way we know well and let's see the last test of season before winter time that could make some important news for us."

The Valencia test takes place on Monday and Tuesday.

JiR did not score a point during the 2014 season.
