Former factory KTM and Mahindra Moto3 rider Arthur Sissis has signed to race Speedway for the UK's Sheffield Tigers.

The 19-year-old Australian was a Speedway star in his home country before switching to road racing.

Sheffield co-promoter Damien Bates said: "He can do some amazing things on a Speedway bike and I don't think I've ever been more excited to see a rider join Sheffield, either as a fan or promoter.

"He's a level-headed lad, has plenty of experience racing in Europe in the GPs and he really wants to do well. He's very professional in every aspect.

"I think Speedway's in his blood and GP racing's loss could be our gain."

Sissis scored a podium during his rookie 2012 Moto3 season, but was unable to build on that performance in year two, costing him the Red Bull KTM Ajo seat.

Sissis moved to the official Mahindra team for this season, but was dropped after ten rounds, having scored just three points.
