Updated: Brad Baker will not race this evening due to shoulder injuries in his qualifying accident

Defending Superprestigio Dirt Track winner Brad Baker has been taken away on a stretcher after a heavy fall during Qualifying 2 for tonight's event.

Baker was fastest with a lap of 12.317s, 0.089s quicker than fellow America Flat Track champion Jared Mees, when he fell with 30 seconds of the three minute session remaining. Baker suffered a suspected concussion and possible left shoulder injuries and is therefore in serious doubt for this evening's finals.

'The Bullet' battled MotoGP champion Marc Marquez for victory in last year's Superprestigio, eventually winning by a comfortable margin after contact between the pair caused the Spaniard to fall.
