MotoGP rookie Eugene Laverty got a taste of World Rally Championship skills and thrills with a ride through the streets of Monaco ahead of this year's WRC season-opener.

Aspar Honda rider Laverty stepped into the co-driver's seat of a Ford Fiesta RS WRC alongside M-Sport star Elfyn Evans.

"That was even better than I expected," Laverty said afterwards. "To watch Elfyn [Evans] driving - his finger tips and the tips of his toes - was incredible. I was looking at him as much as I was looking out of the window and I definitely enjoyed it!"

Laverty will be back in the 'driving seat' of his RC213V-RS during the opening 2015 pre-season test at Sepang from February 4-7.
