Scott Redding declared his Marc VDS Honda RC213V as feeling more 'like my own bike' after reacquainting himself with the machine at Sepang.

The Team Estrella Galicia rider finished 11th fastest on the opening day, lapping in 2m 01.592s as he continued working with his crew to establish a strong base setting.

Redding evaluated a number of changes to the suspension and electronics settings and praised the results after beginning to feel more at home on the Honda.
