British prospect Scott Redding hasn't ruled out the possibility of clinching a dream top-six finish in Qatar this weekend on the Team Estrella Galicia Marc VDS Honda.

Redding is still finding his feet with the RC213V and was disappointed to miss the final day of the Qatar test earlier this month, which was wiped out due to rain.

However, he is optimistic of his prospects at the Losail International Circuit and says a top-six finish is a realistic goal.

"In an ideal world we'd have got the last day of testing in Qatar done, rather than sitting in the box watching the rain, but it was the same for everyone," said Redding.

"I was on a good level at the test and we had some changes to make on the final day that we knew would bring improvements but, unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to test them because of the weather. I'm feeling positive going into the Qatar race.

"I'm still learning with the Honda RC213V, so I'm only going to get faster and, when you look at how close the lap times were during the final test, I think a finish inside the top six or seven is a realistic goal for me this weekend."

Scott is being realistic.
Ideally his goal should be to finish first but with the factory Hondas Yamahas and Ducatis then to set his goal at sixth isn't unreasonable.

We should clearly note that his comment is not a claim that he can/will finish sixth.

I sincerely hope he reaches his goal.
