Andrea Dovizioso says he has more to come in qualifying on Saturday with the Ducati GP15 after concluding FP3 sixth fastest.

Dovizioso lapped in 1m 55.044s but didn't get the most out of the soft tyre and is confident of improving further on the eve of the opening race of the 2015 MotoGP World Championship in Qatar.

"I didn't make a perfect lap with the soft tyre because it was the first time that I tried that tyre and there is the possibility to go faster," said Dovizioso, whose time left him 0.222s behind Marc Marquez.

"Overall, I'm quite happy about the work we made in practice because we tried many things. Sometimes we lost time, but it's about understanding what we have to do.

"At this track it is not a surprise [one second covering top 18]. When you have good grip it is quite easy to make a similar lap time," he added.

"[Braking stability] is not 100 percent, especially thinking about the race, but anyway the speed is there and now it is about working on the small things to be a little bit more consistent."

Dovizioso also praised the winglets on the GP15, which he said enabled him to make better use of the bike's power.

"It worked in the test [winglets], it looks positive and we wheelie less, so we can use more power," he explained.
