Andrea Dovizioso wrapped up the opening day of the Jerez MotoGP in a positive mood as the Ducati star set the fifth fastest time on the factory GP15.

Dovizioso is wary of the potential for tyre fade at the Spanish circuit from the midway point of the race and is striving to optimise his set-up to provide the best compromise for Sunday's race.

"Today went well and I am pleased; after the good sensations in Argentina here we have a good pace and we are also quick on this track," said Dovizioso, who recorded his best time of 1m 39.535s in FP2 using the softer option rear tyre as he finished 0.024s adrift of team-mate Andrea Iannone in fourth.
