MotoGP: Shoulder checks for Iannone after testing fall

Andrea Iannone hurts shoulder in testing fall at Mugello, 'should be ok' for French MotoGP at Le Mans this weekend
UPDATE: Iannone diagnosed as having suffered a dislocated shoulder but intends to ride at Le Mans.

Factory Ducati MotoGP star Andrea Iannone is undergoing checks on his left shoulder after a fall during testing at Mugello.

A team spokesman told that the Italian, who had an ice-pack placed on the shoulder upon returning to the pits, “should be OK for Le Mans” this weekend.

More information on the injury and any consequences for the French GP will be provided once the medical checks are complete.

Ducati elected not to test alongside their rivals at Jerez last Monday, instead sending Iannone and team-mate Andrea Dovizioso to a private test at Mugello, where the factory's home event will be held at the end of this month.

Iannone took a first MotoGP podium on his factory Ducati debut in Qatar, then got to within one corner of anther rostrum in Argentina.

The Italian is currently fifth in the world championship, 17 points behind team-mate and triple race runner-up Dovizioso.
