As was the case in qualifying, Marc Marquez topped team-mate Dani Pedrosa in MotoGP morning warm-up at Indianapolis but the reigning world champion suffered a late spill at turn ten.

While the chequered flag was shown along the pit straight, Marquez fell on the entry to turn ten as he marginally ran off line. The spill came just over ten minutes after Jorge Lorenzo suffered his first crash of the year, the Majorcan high-siding on the exit of turn two. Both riders were ok.

Lorenzo ran to the pit lane to lap on his spare bike and eventually posted the third fastest time. The top three riders demonstrated a strong pace with Lorenzo ending the session just 0.18s slower than Marquez's fastest time.
