Marc Marquez may have won at Indianapolis, but in terms of the title battle it was Jorge Lorenzo who gained ground on Valentino Rossi.

Beaten by Rossi at the previous two rounds, Lorenzo was a step ahead of his team-mate throughout the Indy weekend, only losing out on victory to Honda's Marquez by 0.688s.

But with Rossi prising third from Dani Pedrosa on the final lap, Lorenzo took a less than expected four points from the Italian, meaning the Spaniard is nine adrift heading to Brno - one of his favourite circuits - this weekend.

"Overall the last race at Indy was pretty good for us considering that usually Indianapolis Motor Speedway is not one of my favourite tracks," Lorenzo said. "It also suits our rivals better than it does us, so we have to be proud of what we did there on Sunday.

"Now it is time to face Brno, a completely different circuit. In this case I like the contrast a lot because I always have great fun at Brno, it's a nice racetrack where maybe we can be stronger than we were last weekend.

"We will need to be focused on doing a great job starting from Friday and try to gain as many points as we can to reduce the gap to Valentino."

Although Honda riders have won in the Czech Republic for the past four years, Lorenzo took victory in 2010 and has been on the podium for the last three seasons.
