Moto3: Bagnaia re-signs for Mahindra

Mapfre Team Mahindra has announced that Pecco Bagnaia will remain with the team for the 2016 season.

Bagnaia joined Mahindra at the start of this season, scoring his first podium in the French GP and fourth place in his home race at Mugello. The Italian is currently twelfth and the top Mahindra rider in the world championship standings.

“I am really happy to be re-signing with the Mapfre Team Mahindra for next season,” Bagnaia said. “It is a top team that is highly competitive. I am sure that extending our relationship will bring better results in the near future. We have already achieved great things together this season but next year we will be aiming even higher. Mahindra are working hard and we are looking forward to seeing what they come up with next.

“I am very satisfied to be staying; being with the same team for two seasons brings stability and in 2016 we will be starting from a strong base with a perfect relationship already in place, which will be an advantage. I scored my first Grand Prix podium with this team, which shows how competitive we can be. I have a lot of confidence in every component of the team, we all work well together and that helps us to develop.”
