Andrea Iannone accepted that a difficult weekend lies ahead as he goes into the MotoGP round at Aragon with a recently dislocated left shoulder.

The Italian re-injured the left shoulder he had previously dislocated testing in Mugello in May by tripping while jogging in preparation for the final five races of 2015.

As Iannone moved his arms forward, the sudden movement jarred his shoulder with the shoulder popping out.

The injury has restricted Iannone from intensive training since and after the tendon was briefly displaced, he feels corrective surgery at the end of the season will now be necessary.

"When I run with my personal trainer I was in the street," he said. "I tripped and when I put my arms in front really fast the shoulder go out. I have a lot of pain in this moment. I go to hospital and it was a difficult day before I came here. I didn't touch the ground so it was really strange.

"With my trainer after the shoulder go out I use the elastic for exercise. I don't use it at 100 percent because it's a bit dangerous. Tomorrow I will try with the bike and after the practice I have one idea for how to improve the result."

While it wasn't his priority to go under the knife before, Iannone now feels it's necessary in order to be fighting fit for the start of 2016.

"I think before this time no but for sure now yes. Inside the shoulder I have seven fragments and the tendon under the shoulder has come out a little bit. It's my priority to have a good shoulder for the future. I don't want to think in a bad way. I want to have a good ability for results in 2016 and I want to start the year at 110 percent."

In spite of the injury, Iannone is still hopeful of a strong result this weekend around a circuit at which he has won once and stood on the podium on one other occasion.

The 26-year old believes a pain-killing injection will be necessary in order to steer his GP15 around the succession of undulating kinks and curves.

"I'm sorry that I stay here in Aragon. It's a really good track and in the past I won here one time. I have good memories here but this year is a bit different. For the second time I have the injury in my shoulder and I'm not so happy for this. I think it will be a difficult weekend but I'll try my best. I hope I have the possibility to manage the race at 100 percent.

"I hope not [to have an injection] but I think it's impossible without. For sure I will start without and tomorrow I will decide with the Clinica Mobile guys."
