After eight days in the intensive care unit at Dokkyo University Hospital in Japan, doctors have declared that Alex De Angelis is 'fit to fly'.

Confirmation on the clinical improvement of the San Marino rider was also given by Clinica Mobile MD Michele Zasa, who is present with de Angelis.

Organisation for the flight is now being made, with de Angelis - who suffered head and upper body injuries last Saturday at Motegi - expected to arrive in San Marino 'during the next 10 days'.
