Andrea Dovizioso finished a lowly 13th for Ducati at Phillip Island as team-mate Andrea Iannone celebrated a stunning podium in Australian.

Dovizioso, who started from row four, said he was 'embarrassed' by his performance on the GP15 as he battled down the leaderboard after failing to eliminate set-up issues with the Desmosedici throughout the weekend.

"This was a difficult race for me, any which way you look at it, from the start to the last lap," Dovi said.

"I was unable to ride well and it was embarrassing: I found myself in positions that are not really 'mine', and I feel very sorry for my team.

"I had the same problems all weekend, they weren't big problems but we were never able to resolve them. Then in the last few laps the rear tyre went completely and I no longer had any traction," he added.

"Maybe something happened, but in any case my performance was very disappointing. Now we have to try and understand the reason why, because it's important for the future."
