MotoGP: Pramac announces partnership with Yakhnich

Pramac Racing forms partnership with Yakhnich Motorsport for 2016 MotoGP season.
Pramac Racing has announced a partnership with Yakhnich Motorsport for the 2016 MotoGP season.

The partnership also 'actively involves the Russian Motorcycle Federation and presents a unique Russian-Italian project aiming for the further development of motorsport in Russia'.

The team, which will run Scott Redding and Danilo Petrucci on Ducati machinery this season, will now be known as 'Octo Pramac Yakhnich'.

Yakhnich promoted and organised the inaugural Russian World Superbike rounds in 2012-2013, but is probably best known for winning the 2013 World Supersport title with Sam Lowes.

The outfit then moved into World Superbikes with MV Agusta machinery, but the relationship lasted only a few races before the two parties split. Even so, Yakhnich is set to return to the World Supersport ranks in 2016, reportedly in a deal to run British Supersport stand out Kyle Ryde.

Ajay57: Can someone tell me who these people are no offence intended as i have not come across them before! All the best Ajay.
They're a former World Supersport, European Supertock 600 and Italian 600 Championship team. They won the 2013 World Supersport Championship with Sam Lowes. Known riders they've run include Vladimir Leonov and Dakota Mamola. They also ran the MV Agusta factory effort for the first half of 2014 with Leonov and Jules Cluzel until they folded. Edit: In 2014 the team also ran a World Superbike for Claudio Corti, but similarly to the Supersport effort it was for half a season only.
