Sepang MotoGP Test: Jack Miller confirmed to miss Sepang MotoGP test

Jack Miller is forced to miss the first MotoGP test of the 2016 pre-season as he continues to recover from a leg injury sustained in training.
Jack Miller will not participate in the first 2016 MotoGP test of the pre-season at Sepang as he continues to recover from a leg injury sustained in a training accident.

The Australian youngster picked up a fractured right tibia and fibula in a Motocross incident whilst training at Bellpuig in Spain on January 17th.

However, with the first Sepang test kicking off on February 1st, the Marc VDS Racing team has confirmed the 21 year-old will not be fit to ride the Honda RC213V he sampled for the first time at the post-season Valencia tests in 2015.

Team manager Michael Bartholemy, however, is confident Miller will be up and running for the second test at Phillip Island on February 17th.

“It's unfortunate that Jack is unable to test in Sepang but we are hopeful that he will have recovered sufficiently to join us at Phillip Island for the second of the three preseason tests.”

Miller heads into his second season in MotoGP after making the unprecedented step up from Moto3 to MotoGP on an 'open' specification LCR Honda in 2015.

This is hardly a surprise after they showed the x-ray last time. His ankle is a mess. Maybe Dr Mir can work a miracle for him? If he's lucky, he'll be racing at Qatar. It will be a while before his ankle works properly though. I don't like to sound cynical, because I think he has talent, but I wonder if the MX free-wheeling airborne thrills were worth the risk...
