Update: MotoGP testing resumed at midday. Cause of Loris Baz's accident still not certain but Michelin have withdrawn that (soft) spec of rear tyre as a precaution. So riders will now use the harder rear only and tyre pressures also slightly raised.

The second day of the Sepang MotoGP test has been red flagged for over an hour while the cause of a scary main straight accident for Loris Baz is determined.

The Frenchman amazingly walked away despite being thrown from his Avintia Ducati at 290km/h (180mph).

Testing has been halted until the cause of the accident has been determined. The engine, gearbox, suspension and tyre are all possible suspects but with the rear of the bike so heavily damaged it is no easy task to find out which failed first.

The accident occurred 40-minutes into today's testing, with Pramac's Danilo Petrucci fastest and Casey Stoner in tenth place for Ducati after his first run alongside MotoGP race riders since retiring at the end of 2012.
