New Gresini Moto2 rider Sam Lowes got his first laps of 2016 under his belt on Saturday at Jerez.

The team's original two-day private test, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, was postponed due to poor weather at the Spanish circuit.

The British star thus completed his first 93 laps of the year on Saturday instead, taking the latest Kalex chassis to a best time of 1m 42.901s, effectively matching the official circuit record.
