Qatar Moto2/Moto3 Test: Baldassarri: We finally made the step we needed

Forward Racing's Lorenzo Baldassarri only three tenths off Sam Lowes' record pace at Losail International Circuit as final Moto2 pre-season test draws to a close in Qatar.
Lorenzo Baldassarri closed to within three tenths of Moto2 pacesetter Sam Lowes on the final day of the Qatar test after making a significant step with his Forward Racing Kalex on Sunday.

The young Italian lapped in 1m 59.770s, which left him fifth on the combined times at the conclusion of the final three-day pre-season test one week ahead of the first round of the 2016 World Championship at the same venue.

“It was a positive three-day testing, we finally made the step we needed and we improved a lot in the last session,” said Baldassarri.

“I did some short runs to try different solution on the rear and at the end we made a choice that helped me improve a lot once we changed the tires.”

Ongetta-Rivacold's Niccolo Antonelli was fastest, lapping in 2m 05.444s.
