Repsol Honda duo Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa have passed on their best wishes to Fernando Alonso after seeing his spectacular crash at the Australian Grand Prix.
In the pair's Repsol blogs they reflected on the season-opening Qatar MotoGP as well as events further field and passed on their best wishes to two-time F1 world champion and fellow Spaniard Alonso who walked away unhurt from a huge smash after running into the rear of Esteban Gutierrez's Haas car.
Alonso, who recently joined the two riders at Honda's annual 'Thanks Day' where he rode the RC213V alongside Marquez, has thanked well-wishers from the world of two and four wheels.
“I want to make sure I send a message of encouragement to Fernando Alonso given the accident he had at the Formula 1 Australian GP,” Marquez said. “I'm glad it was nothing major. I'm sending him a huge hug, and I'm sure that this year's season will go much better.”
“The news from Sunday morning was the scare involving Fernando Alonso,” Pedrosa added. “I'm glad that it was only that and nothing serious. When we saw the condition of the car and then saw him walk away, it was a relief but also a surprise. Keep at it.”
The Repsol Honda duo's thoughts are also with those caught up in the tragedy in Brussels today (22nd March) and have sent out messages of support to all those caught up in the events.
