Argentina extends MotoGP contract

Argentina's Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, which hosts MotoGP's only South American round, has agreed a further three-year contract contract extension.

“We are very pleased to reach this agreement with Termas de Rio Hondo and all the parties involved," declared Dorna ceo Carmelo Ezpeleta. "It has been a good project so far with everyone involved helping to create a great circuit, and atmosphere for racing.

“South America has a very big passion for motorsport and we're proud to continue bringing MotoGP to Argentina for three more years.”

Termas de Rio Hondo hosted its first MotoGP event in 2014, with Marc Marquez winning Sunday's round, which featured a mandatory bike change due to concerns over the durability of the Michelin tyres.
