MotoGP Americas: Iannone to the fore in morning warm-up

For only the fourth time in four years, Marc Marquez doesn't top a MotoGP session in Texas, Andrea Iannone displays good pace.
Andrea Iannone upped his pace considerably to top the MotoGP warm-up session in Austin, depriving Marc Marquez of a clean sweep of placing first across the entire weekend.

Iannone's time was a full two tenths of a second faster than Marquez, with Valentino Rossi a further tenth slower in third place.

Suzuki's Maverick Viñales was a full half-second slower than that the first Yamaha man with Andrea Dovizioso (+0.862s) fifth and Aleix Espargaro (+1.086s) showing well in sixth.

Jorge Lorenzo crashed at speed toward the end of the session through the fast turn four. The Spaniard lost the front end of his Yamaha M1 at speed but was unharmed in the incident.

Cal Crutchlow) eighth, Bradley Smtih (ninth) and Yonny Hernandez (tenth) rounded out the top ten. Scott Redding's session was hampered by a machine issue, leaving the Englishman eleventh.

This is looking good, getting a bit nervous due to fear of disappointment as I believe Rossi has a little real chance to pull off a victory this afternoon. Marc and Iannone are equally good, hope JL can join the party for a four way battle to the line...
