A day on from claiming his first front row of 2016, Andrea Iannone topped an unlikely top three in MotoGP morning warm-up at Le Mans.

The Italian, who qualified third despite suffering a crash in the 15-miniute Q2 shootout on Saturday, led Maverick Vi?ales and Pol Espargaro in cooler conditions, suggesting all three will be key in deciding the order of the top six in the race.

Indeed weekend pace-setter and pole man Jorge Lorenzo was only fourth fastest, but showed his typical turn of metronomic consistency during a twelve lap run. From lap four onwards all-but-one circuit of the 2.6-mile track was in the mid/low 1m 33s.
