MotoGP: Marquez, Pedrosa ride RC213V-S at Austria's Red Bull Ring

Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa on track at the Red Bull Ring, which will host the returning Austrian MotoGP round in August.
Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa rode some promotional laps of the Red Bull Ring in Austria on Tuesday, using an RC213V-S road bike.

The 188,000 Euro machine is based on the RC213V prototype raced by the Repsol Honda riders in MotoGP.

Austria last held a motorcycle grand prix in 1997, before Red Bull took over what was then named the A1 Ring. It is returning to the calendar from August 12-14.

2016 championship leader Marquez first sampled the circuit last year during another promotional event, using an RC213V, although the asphalt has since been changed.

tzmike: that 180k piece of **** got spanked by BMWS at the isle of man . Honda should be embarrassed to have put that bike in the race. AND, they uglier than the troll living under the bridge.
Firstly, Bruce Anstey was going very well until his off which trimmed his speed back. Secondly Honda did not put that bike in the race, Padgetts did off their own back without Honda's help. And lastly your last comment makes no sense anyway.

It beat 14 BMWs at the IOM Senior and got beaten by 2 factory BMWs, a factory Honda and Dean Harrisons Kwak. Not so bad for a first time appearance.
