Maverick Vinales will have the new Suzuki chassis fitted to both his GSX-RRs on Friday practice at Assen.
The Spanish star first tried the frame in a private test at Valencia, just before Catalunya.
But, unlike team-mate Aleix Espargaro, Vinales opted not to risk using the chassis for the race weekend - a decision he regretted after running the frame at the post-race test.
“It's the new chassis I tested in Barcelona... both bikes,” Vinales confirmed on Thursday. “We want to concentrate on using it at a race weekend, because we always try it in the tests. We will see on the race weekend if we've found one step.”
The young Spaniard took the GSX-RR's first podium at Le Mans, backing it up with fourth last time in Barcelona.
“At Montmelo I saw I can be at the front fighting, but to win you then need to make another extra [step]. We'll see if we have.”
“Last year [Assen] was quite good for Suzuki. Aleix started from the first row, so I'm quite confident. I think I'm at a good level now and if we work hard we can do a good job.”
Vinales is fifth in the standings heading into this weekend.
In contrast to Vinales, Espargaro plans to switch back to the 'standard' chassis.
