ElbowDown93: why Everybody is calling Rossi 'The G.O.A.T' since his return to Yamaha
2006-07 - fire within him for motogp is out... 2010 Mugello- he'll never be the same again... 2012 Ducati- he must retire... 2013 Yamaha - he lost his mojo even with his beloved Yamaha and is too old to still remain around blocking potential future star's places... 2016 - championship contender... Answer lies in how he kept on reinventing himself to adopt to the new levels of the game raised by new young ones...? Dare you find a better word than GOAT to describe him...

This article is simply click-bait. There's no way you can compare the racers of the 1950s and 1960s to the current era. In those days, most GPs were run on road circuits. The racers were basically amateurs, and they truly risked their lives every single lap. There were no factory teams until Count Augusta built the all conquering 4 cylinder sand cast barrels of the mighty MV, which the rest of the field had less chance of competing with than the current F1 field has of beating Mercedes. Of the racers I've seen, I was a fan of Steady Eddie, and I would say that CBRStevo has a valid point with Wayne Rainey. Misano 1993 was a tragedy. Rossi is a great rider, without a doubt. But how does he compare to Geoff Duke? You can't compare them, so it comes down to who do you idolise? For most of the readers on here, that's Valentino Rossi...it doesn't make him the best, though it does make him the most profitable.
