Andrea Iannone led an all-Ducati top four as private MotoGP testing came to an end in Austria on Wednesday.

If Iannone, or any of the Desmsosedicis, can repeat the feat in next month's race they will hand Ducati its first MotoGP win since 2010.

Iannone, 0.5s behind Andrea Dovizioso on day one, turned the tables on his team-mate by slashing over a second from his best lap time on Wednesday.

That was enough to keep him 0.440s clear of Dovizioso, with factory test rider Casey Stoner third (+0.625s) despite a late fall. Avintia's Hector Barbera completed the Desmosedici sweep (+0.851s), with Yamaha's Valentino Rossi best of the rest (+0.929s).

Iannone credited a new chassis with helping him sign off the first half of the MotoGP season in the 'best possible way'.

"It was a very positive test. I am happy that we finished it in this way with the best time, because in the two days we always lapped very quickly and we worked very well.

"Yesterday we tried for the first time the new chassis, which gave me some very positive sensations.

"Today we focused on working on some different bike set-up solutions, with good results and I can say that a result like this is the best possible way to go on holiday!"

The stop-go nature of the Red Bull Ring clearly plays to Ducati's braking and acceleration strengths, with Dovizioso confirming: "Here we have been really competitive, it's great to do two days of testing before the race because it gives you the chance of working on fine-tuning aspects and I know that we can still improve there.

"I am very pleased with my Desmosedici GP on this track, because we can exploit our potential to the maximum and I believe that we can be really competitive in the race."

The only teams not present at this week's test were Repsol Honda and Tech 3 Yamaha.

The first Austrian Grand Prix since 1997 will be held back at the Red Bull Ring from August 12-14.
