The Red Bull Ring officially became the fastest circuit on the current MotoGP calendar on Friday afternoon.
Despite a modification to the final corner, Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso set an average speed of 185.9km/h (115.6mph) around the 4.318km circuit.
That beats the 182.1km/h (113.2mph) pole record at Australia's Phillip Island track.
Dovizioso's team-mate Andrea Iannone set an unofficial average speed of 187.1km/h (116.3mph)
at the recent test, before the change to Turn 10 and redesigned Michelin rear tyres.
