Andrea Dovizioso led a Ducati one-two as the Italian rider edged out team-mate Andrea Iannone to end day one at the top of the times at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

Iannone had pulled clear on the Desmosedici on his final run after fitting new rubber and held an advantage of 0.6 seconds as he produced the first 1m 23s lap of the weekend.

However, not to be outdone, Dovizioso upped his pace in the final minutes to set a benchmark of 1m 23.617s on the GP16, leaving Iannone 0.2 seconds adrift in second.
