UPDATE:"It has only been [a] fright! All is ok!" - tweet from Marc Marquez.

Marc Marquez has been taken to Leoben hospital after a fall dislocated his left shoulder during MotoGP FP3 at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

The championship leader fell when braking for the uphill, tight turn three when attempting to avoid team-mate Dani Pedrosa, who was touring around the outside of the hairpin.

Clearly in some discomfort, Marquez was seen to be holding his left collarbone in the wake of the crash, fuelling fears he had done some serious damage. However, upon returning to the Repsol Honda garage, it was reported that he suffered a dislocation to his left collarbone.

Honda's Carlo Fiorani told Crash.net that the dislocation was not serious and Marquez could have returned to the track in the final half hour of the session had it been essential. However, as he had improved his time prior to the fall, all-but guaranteeing his place in Q2, it was deemed wiser to visit the medical centre for checks.

However, Movistar TV, the Spanish television station, reported that Marquez suffered a bang to the head in the incident, and this was a reason for his transfer to the hospital. If it is judged that Marquez has some form of concussion, he would be unable to participate in the remainder of the weekend. He ended the session ninth, a place ahead of Dani Pedrosa.

Aside from the Marquez incident, Andrea Iannone was the fastest rider with Maverick Vi?ales second and Jorge Lorenzo third. Andrea Dovizioso did not improve on his Friday time, but remains second on the overall time sheets.

A late fall for Cal Crutchlow meant he slipped outside the top ten. The Englishman will join Danilo Petrucci, Eugene Laverty and the Tech 3 Yamahas of Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaro in Q1 this afternoon.
