UPDATE: Jack Miller has been ruled out of this afternoon's race after being diagnosed with hairline fractures to his T6 vertebra and right wrist.

As both Italian riders prepare to end Ducati's six-year wait for victory, both Andrea Iannone and Andrea Dovizoso rose to the fore in MotoGP morning warm up on Sunday.

Both Bologna backed riders were four tenths of a second faster than third-placed Jorge Lorenzo, with pole sitter Iannone enjoying a 0.046s advantage over his team-mate.

Lorenzo spoke of his pleasure with his settings on Saturday evening, something that was evident here. The Majorcan was narrowly ahead of Maverick Vi?ales, whose Suzuki was again enjoying the cooler morning conditions.

Front row starter Valentino Rossi was half a second in arrears of the fastest man in fifth, a place ahead of Marc Marquez, who continues to perform admirably in spite of injuring both shoulders in a heavy Saturday morning fall.

Another rider walking wounded, Aleix Espargaro was seventh fastest in spite of an injured left hand, with Pramac Ducati teamsters Scott Redding and Danilo Petrucci seventh and eighth.

Bradley Smith was the first of the Tech 3 Yamahas in tenth, with Pol Espargaro a place behind.

There was a heavy fall for Jack Miller, who crashed at speed through the fast turn eight. The Australian impacted the gravel heavily and was taken to hospital for checks.
