KTM's new RC16 MotoGP machine made a popular debut in front of its home Austrian fans, just before Sunday's MotoGP race.
After an official presentation of the project on Saturday, test riders Mika Kallio and Alex Hofmann completed several demonstration laps of the Red Bull Ring circuit - with the bike in full livery for the first time.
Kallio - who lapped within two-seconds of the top, and one-second from the leading non-Ducati, during last month's private test - will give the RC16 its race debut as a wild-card in November's season finale.
“I think a few weeks ago we demonstrated to everyone that we're on a good level," said the Finn, a former full time MotoGP racer. "It was good to be on the bike and I really enjoyed all the laps I did.
"We are already quite close to our competitors and step-by-step we are improving. I would say the engine on this bike is already good and now we have four more tests before Valencia.”
Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaro will race the machine full-time in 2017.
