Jorge Lorenzo's rostrum return in Austria has given the reigning MotoGP world champion a shot in the arm as he bids to emulate his dominant 2015 victory at Brno in the Czech Republic this weekend.

Lorenzo, second in the championship reckoning and 43 points behind Honda's Marc Marquez, is a huge fan of the circuit, which the Spaniard says is the perfect match for his factory Movistar Yamaha YZR-M1.

"We achieved a great result in Austria after a difficult period for me, so I'm pretty happy to come back with a podium finish. I'm happy to ride again this week at Brno in a back-to-back race," Lorenzo said.

"That race track is beautiful and it suits the YZR-M1 perfectly. I like the Brno circuit a lot because it has plenty of high-speed corners and I have good memories there. Last year we dominated the race and I hope to have good feelings there again this time round.

"We need to stay in the fight again and try to recover some more points for the championship as we did in Spielberg."

Lorenzo, who will join Andrea Dovizioso at Ducati in 2017, has won twice in the premier class at Brno in 2010 and again last season.
