MotoGP: Alex Lowes to test Tech 3 Yamaha

"The chance to try one of the best MotoGP bikes in the world will be a great experience for me as a rider and really is the icing on the cake!" - Alex Lowes.
Pata Yamaha World Superbike star Alex Lowes will make his MotoGP debut on a Tech 3 Yamaha during Monday's official test at Brno.

The ride is a reward for his part in Yamaha's Suzuka 8 Hours victory, when he rode alongside current Tech 3 racer Pol Espargaro and Katsuyuki Nakasuga.

"I'm really looking forward to Monday's test on the YZR-M1," Lowes said. "I'm very thankful to Yamaha for providing me the opportunity, and to Hervé Poncharal and the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team for making it possible.

"Brno is a fantastic circuit and it will be good to work with Pol again, from inside his own garage this time!

"It's been a good month already with the Suzuka victory and a really positive test this week on the World Superbike. Yamaha giving me the chance to try one of the best MotoGP bikes in the world will be a great experience for me as a rider and really is the icing on the cake!"

Alex's twin brother Sam is joining MotoGP next season with Aprilia.

Jumping from an under performing R1 to a under performing Tech3 M1 I'm not expecting him setting the world on fire but fair play to Yamaha giving him a shot What is it this year with the Tech3? the factory don't seem to be passing anything over, I mean look at the wings they look like Guy Coulon has knocked them up out of a empty cereal box
