MotoGP Great Britain: Pedrosa: I need to regain my confidence

'The work we did during the Brno post-race test gave us a few ideas and we'll see now if we're able to start to find some more speed in the next races' - Dani Pedrosa.
Dani Pedrosa says his main target is to restore his confidence with the Repsol Honda as the Spanish rider looks towards this weekend's British round of the MotoGP World Championship at Silverstone.

Pedrosa has been struggling for form on the RCV but is taking heart from the recent post-race test at Brno in the Czech Republic as he sets out to improve on his recent results.

“My main goal at the moment is to regain some confidence and feeling and then build upon that. The work we did during the Brno post-race test gave us a few ideas and we'll see now if we're able to start to find some more speed in the next races,” said Pedrosa.

“Silverstone is a challenging venue with many changes of direction that require a lot of work on the bike's settings. Another important topic is the weather, which is often quite unpredictable, and that also makes it demanding to set up the bike, to choose tyres and so on.

“The morning practices and the afternoon practice often give you different feelings,” he added. “The track is very fast, quite winding, and it's not easy. Once you get going though, things get better and everything gets more flowing on race day.”

Pedrosa, who is fourth in the standings ahead of the 12th round, finished third at Silverstone in 2012 and 2013.

The most pertinent question for Dani is if he wants to win a championship or wants to just win some races.... I really feel like he should have pushed for those second Suzuki/Yamaha seats when they were available.....Mav took a lot of time considering his future and there were rumors about Yamaha talking with Dani's management.... He couldn't beat Marc the last three years with a bike more favourable to him than what it is today.........I just don't see him beating Marc in a championship on the same bike....His love and loyalty towards Honda wouldn't do him much good... If he wants to win a championship, he needs to think about beating Marquez on a different bike like Valentino and Jorge are doing. Marc Marquez is too good to be beaten by his teammate on equal machinery.
