MotoGP San Marino: Pedrosa 'feeling more confident'

'We need to keep the same style in the next race weekend, focusing in the practices, not making too many changes on the bike and working to understand how to use the tyres better' - Dani Pedrosa.
Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa heads to Misano in Italy this week feeling more confident with the RCV following a solid ride to fifth place at Silverstone.

Pedrosa crossed the line behind team-mate Marc Marquez in the British Grand Prix and has gained some extra motivation ahead of Sunday's 13th round of the MotoGP World Champion in San Marino.

“We arrive in Misano from a race that helped us to gain a little bit more confidence and motivation. Lap by lap, I was better able to understand our strong points and weak points,” said Pedrosa.

“We need to keep the same style in the next race weekend, focusing in the practices, not making too many changes on the bike and working to understand how to use the tyres better, choosing those that adapt better to the track. We must remain completely focused on the job.”

Pedrosa has a solid record at Misano, winning in 2010, finishing as the runner-up in 2011 and claiming three third places in 2009, 2013 and 2014.

The 30-year-old slipped to fifth place in the championship standings on Sunday behind Silverstone winner Maverick Vinales, five points behind the Suzuki rider.

Apparently, Dani has spent the whole 2016 season testing. He doesn't get along well with the Michelin tyres. In addition, the bike has become more demanding from a physical perspective.
