Misano staying on MotoGP calendar

New four-year deal for MotoGP at Misano.
Misano, venue for this weekend's San Marino Grand Prix, will continue to host MotoGP until at least 2020.

A new four-year agreement was signed on the eve of this weekend's round.

The Italian cirucit returned to the calendar in 2007 and, fuelled by the success of local hero Valentino Rossi, was sold out on race day last season.

"The confirmation of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini GP for the next four years guarantees the MotoGP calendar a date of great sporting importance," said Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports. "Here it has been possible to reinforce a winning formula between public promoters and the Circuit.

"The Circuit has spent generous and incessant investments to safely welcome spectators and races. There are all the ingredients for further growth. In the meantime, let's get ready for the days ahead where the common passion for motorcycling, thanks to the events and challenges in the circuit, will have again provide unrivaled satisfaction and emotion."
