Marc Marquez will have the first of four chances to wrap-up the 2016 MotoGP title next weekend in Japan.

After stumbling to third in last year's standings, the Repsol Honda star is set to clinch his third premier-class crown in four attempts.

It would also be his fifth world championship in seven years, counting 125cc in 2010 and Moto2 in 2012.

Marquez won his second MotoGP title at Motegi in 2014 (pictured) but, barring a disaster for Movistar Yamaha riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, he probably won't be celebrating another crown next Sunday.

The 23-year-old currently holds a 52-point lead over Rossi and 66-point lead over Lorenzo. To be champion in Japan, he would need to raise that advantage to 76-points over his nearest rival.

A more realistic target for Marquez's title celebrations is therefore the following Phillip Island round.

And the secret of Marquez's success?

At Aragon, Crash.net asked the #93 for the best advice he has received about racing. This was his reply:

"I've received a lot of advice, but in the end the most important one is to enjoy being on the bike and being with your team. Because if you don't enjoy it, it's impossible to be fast.

"You must be happy, enjoy it and try to concentrate only on your pit box. Not think about the other riders and the other teams."

Marquez has won four of the 14 races this season, compared with two wins for Rossi and three for Lorenzo. Lorenzo is currently the only Spanish rider to have won three premier-class titles.

ZeFrenchAngle: Oh Dear !

Of course if Vale scores 1 point or zero points in Motegi, and Lorenzo finishes way way way down, and Marquez beats Pedrosa, Crutchlow, Dovi to win the race, then Marquez is champion.

When the sums, despite being correct, are this fanciful .....

So Lorenzo takes out Rossi at turn 1, he will do it for Spain.[\blockquote]

How does George manage that after qualifying in the rain and starting from the 22nd place on the grid?
