Moto2 Japan: Lowes confident of victory charge

'Our goal is to fight again for the victory because we have everything it takes to be competitive' - Sam Lowes.
Sam Lowes expects to be in the fight for victory at Phillip Island in Australia this weekend as the British rider attempts to see out his final year in Moto2 on a high.

Lowes will make the step up to the MotoGP class next season with in the Gresini Aprilia team but first he is aiming for another win or two in Moto2.

Last year, the Team Federal Oil Gresini rider finished as the runner-up at Phillip Island and Lowes sees no reason why he can't go one step further on Sunday.

“Phillip Island is a circuit I love and where I've always been very strong, since my first year in Moto2. Therefore our goal is to fight again for the victory, because we have everything it takes to be competitive,” he said.

“At the moment the weather forecast for the weekend are not very good, so we could meet difficult conditions, but we are confident and ready anyway.”

Lowes, who crashed at Motegi in Japan, is fourth in the championship classification, 17 points behind Motegi race winner Thomas Luthi in third.
