Alex Barros back on top in Brazilian SBK finale

Alex Barros makes one-off appearance at Brazilian Superbike finale, wins race two.
Former MotoGP star Alex Barros returned to racing action, and the top step of the podium, during the Brazilian Superbike season finale in Sao Paulo.

Barros raced in grand prix from 1986 to 2007, claiming seven victories in the premier 500cc/MotoGP class.

Now 46-years-old, Barros runs his own BMW team in the BRSBK series - but decided to join his rider Diego Pierluigi on track for the Interlagos round.

Barros lost out on victory by just 0.168s to series champion Diego Faustino (Honda) in race one, but romped to a 6.8s victory over Faustino in race two. Pierluigi joined his team boss on the podium in third (pictured).
